The Department of Forest and Wood Products Economics and Policy FFWT MENDELU in cooperation with the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) invites you to participate in the event and celebrate 40th anniversary of the IUFRO Unit 4.05.00.
The conference aims to discuss current issues and challenges in forestry and their socio-economic impact, especially the increased pressure for better managerial skills, planning, logistics, communication, marketing and market analysis. Related themes are a shortage of skilled labour to manage the calamitous situation efficiently, and the overproduction and related overall deficient demand for wood products in many countries. The current pandemic also significantly reduces public interest in forest-related issues and thus limits the crucial societal debate. The conference aims to analyse the current situation at the national, European and global levels and to propose steps to stabilise the sector.
The organisers are taking all necessary steps for the hybrid organisation or even a completely virtual event in case event needs to adapt to the current epidemic situation.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Mendel University in Brno rector Prof Danuše Nerudová.
